Patient 1
This patient was concerned with the appearance of her front teeth. She had had previous bonding to fill in the spacing between the four front teeth. Over time the bonding material will start to stain around the margins where it’s bonded to the natural tooth surface which can give the tooth a more gray appearance. Another visible issue is the position of the gum line on her two front teeth. Both have a recession, which can make her front two teeth look longer and more triangular in shape.
In this after picture, the gum line is more symmetrical. We worked with a local periodontist to have gum grafting, which is a procedure to grow the gum back to where it should be before this patient had a recession. This part of the treatment is just as important as the porcelain veneers. The gums are like the framing around a picture, where the teeth are like the picture inside the frame. Without gum grafting, this patient would still have an unacceptable cosmetic result after treating her with veneers, which makes gum grafting a crucial part of the success in a case like this.

Patient 2
This patient was unhappy with the bonding on her front two teeth. Notice how they look more yellow and have a dull appearance compared to her natural teeth. Another minor issue is the position of her lateral incisor. It is tilted out.
We removed the bonding and placed 4 veneers on the front four teeth. In doing so, we could correct the position of the tooth mentioned earlier. Another key feature to the success of this case is the right shade match. Several layers of varying shades were necessary to achieve a match with her natural teeth as well as the shiny polish off the porcelain.

Patient 3
This patient was unhappy with her smile. When looking at this before picture we can see a few different issues. First, her front six teeth have a lot of wear at the edges, which weakens the teeth and causes chipping. Unfortunately, this situation can create the appearance of a more aged smile. Secondly, the gum line of the four front teeth is too low. This will cause the front teeth to look too short and wide. It will also create the appearance of a gummy smile, where too much gum tissue is showing when she smiles.
Thirdly, the gum has receded on her canines. This created root exposure, which is the yellow portion at the top. The recession also creates more contrast in the length of the front four teeth; making the front four looks even shorter and wider.
We worked with a local periodontist to gum graft the canines, reducing her recession and crown lengthen the front four, which essentially pushes the gum level higher. After the gum treatment healed, porcelain veneers were bonded to the front six teeth. By doing this, we were able to achieve a more natural tooth shape, more symmetry in her smile, and a lighter shade as well!

Patient 4
This patient was unhappy with her smile due to the staining around her previous bonding. Also, the previous bonding has a more yellowish color when compared to her natural teeth. She was also unhappy with the spacing between her front two teeth.
Her bonding was replaced with a better shade that matched her teeth. The space between the front two teeth was also closed with bonding. This was a relatively quick procedure which can create a world of difference with just one appointment and no numbing is necessary!

Patient 5
This patient was unhappy with her smile. A couple of issues are present. First, the right front tooth is much lower than the left front tooth. When looking closer we can actually see an uneven gum line, which is when one side is lower than the other. Second, she was unhappy with the shade of her teeth and wanted something lighter and more cosmetic.
We started this case by whitening her natural teeth with custom trays and bleaching gel. After she reached a point where she liked the
shade of her natural teeth, We replaced the crown and bonded porcelain veneers to the rest of her front four teeth. We were able to reduce the appearance of her uneven gum line and achieve a brighter, more straight smile!
